HISTORICAL OVERVIEW
Howlite was first discovered in Nova Scotia, Canada in the 19th century by Henry How, after whom it was named. Its porous nature made it useful for absorbing dyes, which led to its frequent use as an imitation of turquoise. Despite this, Howlite has gained recognition in metaphysical traditions as a calming stone, valued for its ability to ease stress, quiet the mind, and encourage patience. It is often associated with spiritual awareness and emotional healing.
